Medea

By Euripides

Love, betrayal, revenge and the terrifying consequences of being pushed too far: Euripides’ Medea remains one of the most powerful dramas ever written because its central questions still feel painfully immediate.

Medea has sacrificed everything for the man she loves. When Jason abandons her for a younger bride, she is left with nothing—and refuses to accept her fate quietly. What follows is a searing confrontation between passion and reason, justice and revenge, and the expectations placed on women and the choices available to them.

More than 2,400 years after it was written, Medea still knows how to get under your skin. It is fierce, emotionally charged and deeply human, asking uncomfortable questions about love, power, betrayal and what happens when someone who has been denied a voice decides to take it back.

Come for the legendary tragedy. Stay for the unforgettable character at its center—and a story that proves some of the oldest human conflicts are still very much with us.
